Before reading, take into account that these are MY thoughts on the game, and in no way I mean to say that what I say it's how it is, everyone has his/her own opinion, so I don't want anybody starting an argue, OK? :meow:

:iconthetriforceplz:

So! I beat Skyward Sword a couple of days ago and when I beat a new Zelda game I like making my own little review of it ^^ if you're interested, read on! If not, go do something else I guess! XD
First of all, the fuzz everyone made: the graphics, honestly I didn't care that much for the graphics, they looked nice and they fit with the game, but I didn't "feel like playing inside a painting" like one guy from Nintendo said; that they wanted to give that effect, well, it didn't work on me XD I still prefer TP graphics and I think it would have looked so much better with them, but then again, is time I really didn't care for them :3
Now more onto the game itself; I simply LOVED it as a story, it was wonderful the beautiful relationship between Link and Zelda  how she has a role, a VERY important role in the game, she's a GODDESS!! :dummy: And how FREAKING CUTE she is!! And how expressive Link is, so caring and sweet! x3 The story really did a general "click" with many things we all saw in previous Zelda games, like where the Master Sword lies in the end, in a temple in the middle of a forest, in TP you find it in a forest but surrounded by temple ruins, while in ALTTP you find it in a forest (the lost woods) like of the flow of time just changed everything :la: then it's Demise, ooooooh Demise how you put me at the edge of my sit when I read your last words!!! :iconlachoirplz: GANONDORK!! :dummy: I have to say, Nintendo, you did a SPECTACULAR work there, yet you once again failed giving romance between Link and Zelda! :shakefist: yeah I know they have their moments, but never a true romantic one -____- (Nintendo you coward!) yet the very ending, when Zelda decides to stay and Link stays as well... that made up for it... a bit XD
The characters! Link and Zelda are lovely, covered that already. Let's start with Fi! Fi, oh Fi... how I ADORED AND LOVED HER!! She was to me the perfect companion, so graceful and weird but in a funny way (laughed so hard when Scrapper fell for her and she was all like "..." X'D), she wasn't annoying like so people say Navi is, and she doesn't steel Link's thunder like Midna does!! :nuu: (that's my personal opinion). I loved to see her dancing every single time, though her singing gave a bit of the creeps XD (listening to it, watching it was beautiful) every time she talked I was so very attentive, because she simply mesmerized me, and GOD how she made me cried in the ending!! TTuTT Then we have Groose! Who didn't hate him at first, but then ended up liking him oh so much? Seriously, he acts like the biggest jerk in the beginning, but ends up being a great team mate when getting the damned imprisoned, and he's so cute to old Impa it melts my heart! X3 Impa... she just blew my mind in the ending, DAMN SHE WAITED FOR ZELDA! X'D she is so sweet and wise as old, but she has such a strong and fiery character as young, she's awesome! Ghirahim... oh how weird and creepy you are, yet you're deliciously addictive! All three times I faced you I LOVED it you crazy, Fi's counterpart, FABULOUS sword!! *u* And then Gaepora... yeah, he will be reborn as an owl, enough said XD
Now onto gameplay. First, I have to say that so far, this was the hardest Zelda game I've played, getting used to how to look for your opportunities to attack and shield bashing was a great challenge, and I ended up loving playing that way, but there are other aspects in where the gameplay that really let me down; first of all, you are WAY TOO guided, with the dowsing and everyone telling you what to do, there's not much room for exploring and adventuring, something I LOVE to do in every single Zelda game, to explore my way on my own to the next temple... with small hints sure, but not having someone pointing so obviously to me where to go next... that brings me to the world map, which to me it didn't feel like one at all, it felt like stages, pretty much like in four swords... in TP it was EPIC riding Epona across the fields because all of a sudden you would have bokoblins chasing after you and putting up a fight; flying around a big island in the sky surrounded by little ones with 90% of the map being clouds... doesn't feel like that, not one bit.
In all Zelda games you have to do something to access a new temple, but the things you had to do to get to every temple, in my opinion, where ridiculously long, so much that when I actually made it to the temple I felt like taking a break, because everything that you have to do feels like... a sub-temple! (XD).
Last but not least, the way of carrying items and upgrading them and shields' durability, I thought it was GREAT, gave some new taste to the game and made your playing even more careful and difficult, since you had to think carefully what to bring with you and how to play so your shield didn't get broken, thank God the Hylian shield was like the most perfect, unbreakable shield ever though, I became really good at shield bashing and when fighting Ghirahim and Demise I didn't have that much of a problem, but if I would have gotten hit by Demise's three in a row hits my Goddess shield would have died I'm sure XD
And finally, I have to make a mention to the music, I've loved Zelda music since forever and every new Zelda game also got me excited as to what the music was going to be, all I have to say is, another master piece Koji Kondo, you rule my Zelda world completely, thank you for making the best video game music ever throughout 25 years :happybounce:
So, DEFINITELY an incredible Zelda game, but it's far from being the best to me ;P

i agree with everything but the graphics and taking too long to reach a temple. i LOVED the graphics to no end (oh god if they were in HD) and it suited the game so well. as for taking longer to get to each temple, i loved it because i never played zelda games for the dungeons, but for what you do outside of them, so yeah, loved that in SS.

about fi, i loved her too! she was so beatiful and graceful and useful :> i don't know why so many people say she's even more annoying that navi. i personally was always eager to see her pop from my sword to say something xD and i loved how she spoke in %. but it is true she would say some obvious things from time to time.

i've never been a zelink shipper till i played SS :> they're so cute together and it's just so obvious they had a thing for each other. i personally really liked the fact nintendo chose not to do a kissey kiss scene or whatever.

and yes, ghirahim is love <3

Oh I loved the graphics as well! It fit the game perfectly, but what I meant is that I didn't feel like I was playing in a painting like Nintendo said xP I also agree with doing things out of the dungeons (I do love dungeons x3) but in this game I didn't feel I had the freedom to go around as much as I want like in other games, instead to me it felt like going to different stages, like in four swords, so that for me was... "meh" xP

FI! I know!! I was like that as well! I still can't believe people say she's more annoying than Navi! No companion can be more annoying than her! XD

exactly! i mean I LOVED the fact that Impa got some more attention (I think she's a great character in the Loz series) but still, would have been nice to have seen more of Link and Zelda rejoicing, or exploring the new land or something!

Oh Impa KILLED me here! I agree, she's great, except TP Impa... wth is that?! XD
It's like, they gave huge and great scenes during the game, but they came short at the ending... when you're seeing such sweet scenes it natural to expect to see a greater one in the end! xP

I haaatteeeddd Fi she was so boring the game in general was the most boring Zelda game I've ever played. I don't agree with you about Midna Link definitely restole his thunder in the end. XD
I also loved the emotional aspect of it. It was the best Zelda emotionally wise I really think theyre making progress there.
I really don't think they developed the game map enough though I was extremely disappointed with that.

Oh and I never want to see a set in stone romance. It would just take a lot of freedom from the game.

As I said, this is my personal opinion, but since you brought it up, Midna stole Link's thunder throughout the WHOLE game, even the sub-title is Twilight Princess, the game should not be about her, but it is. The main character of the Zelda series is Link and I think It's not just me who wants him to be involved deep in the story, like he was in OoT and SS and the whole rest, and not just a third wheel watching what's going on around him and being Midna's bitch, doing everything she asks for, and not in the nicest way too, not one bit.
Fi was too obvious too many times yes which I actually thought that was funny, her mathematical analysis of everything really amused me, but she was graceful, beautiful, respectful and loyal, the perfect being to represent the spirit of the Master Sword, if I had a sword, I would want it to be like her
And so far, there's no other Zelda game that had such much emotion put into it, which was a great thing for me, and I don't see what's wrong with romance, haha there actually is love between Pipit and Karane, but I want it for once between Link and Zelda >.> and I'm not alone in this

I'm still in the middle of it..I've been really busy with school..Although there were a lot of spoilers here I was already spoiled haha but it was totally worth it, and playing it, even though I know what happens, I still think it's so exciting to see what is happening and how smoothly it transitions.

Don't worry, I wasn't THAT specific with many things, and even though you read some, it will be awesome to see them happen, words can't describe it X3
