Hi everyone!! Long time no see!! Work's been keeping me away from everything ¬¬ but I found some time to do a quick pic and start coloring it, here's the part where I need your help! ^^ I'm doing a simple portrait of Karina to catch up on my coloring again and then start doing more elaborated stuff again (like finishing all those sketches around my gallery XDD) the thing is... I need to give her skin a nice-looking tone, but I don't know which colors to blend in order to do it ¬¬ I always blend some light peach and peach with a little brown or violet (recently this one) but in this case I just feel both are too... um... not right XD for this particular pic, I want to try something softer but don't know where to go... can you pleeeaaaase help me? So I can finish it and post something again! :boogie:

pink always gives a soft look...I use a very light brown (both blended with peach, of course) for shaded areas.

P.S. I've always found that using pinkish tones makes for a nice, soft look. Red might be a little too harsh if you don't have a definite strong sunlight going on. You can soften that by using pink. It's still warm, but it's softer.

That's a great one, I'll practice a bit with red and pink and then I'll se which one I apply on the pic, thanks so much! :glomp:

Depends on the lighting. If it's warm and sunny, a reddish tone is nice for shading. If it's cool, a blue or purple works. If you want just a neutral looking picture, browns work well, although try to get a brown with a hint of another color in it, like ruddy brown.

Please don't use grey... Grey makes everything washed out and colorless.

Yeaaaaah a reddish tone is what I was thinking too, it kinda scares me though XDDD but I'll give it a try.
Oh nooeesss! No way greys >.> I don't think they're right for blending peaches XDD or any kind of skin!
